COMPARTMENT UP TERMS OF SERVICE Version 4, effective 2026-08-12 1. ACCEPTANCE The operator of compartment.dev ("we") provides Compartment Up (the "Service"). By using the Service directly, or by telling an agent to deploy after it presents these terms, you accept them. Your agent acts as your tool, and you are responsible for its instructions and actions. If you deploy for another person or organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for them. 2. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AND CONTENT You are responsible for your deployments, their activity, their content, and their users. You must have the rights and permissions needed to deploy and operate each project. You must also provide any notices, consent, or protections that your project's users and applicable law require. You keep ownership of your content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit, display, and scan it only as needed to operate and secure the Service, enforce these terms, and comply with law. This license ends when we delete the content, except for copies that we must retain for security or legal reasons. 3. NO-ACCOUNT USE AND LOGS You do not need a human account or payment details. We do not promise untraceable use. We may record IP addresses, user agents, agent credential identifiers, organization identifiers, deployment metadata, and operational or security logs. We use this data to operate the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with law. We may share it with providers that run the Service and with authorities when law requires. 4. PROHIBITED USE Do not attempt, assist, or allow anyone to use the Service to break the law or harm others. You must not commit fraud or deceive others. Prohibited conduct includes: - phishing, impersonation, identity theft, and credential or payment-data theft; - fake stores, products, invoices, payment pages, charities, jobs, or support services; - investment, cryptocurrency, loan, advance-fee, pyramid, Ponzi, romance, or refund scams; and - click, advertising, affiliate, referral, or chargeback fraud. You must not use the Service to: - distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, botnets, or command-and-control software; - access systems without permission, attack networks, or conduct denial-of-service activity; - send spam, run abusive mass automation, mine cryptocurrency, operate an open proxy, evade bans or limits, or place an unreasonable load on infrastructure; - sell or facilitate illegal goods or services, violate intellectual-property or privacy rights, sexually exploit or abuse children, or threaten violence. 5. PUBLIC DEPLOYMENTS AND RETENTION Treat a deployment as public unless the Service tells you otherwise. Do not deploy secrets, regulated data without proper safeguards, or the only copy of code or data. We may set resource limits, expiration periods, or inactivity rules. We may change or discontinue the Service and delete deployments or data. Keep your own backups. 6. ENFORCEMENT We may investigate suspected abuse and remove a deployment, restrict access, or stop providing the Service. We may act without notice when we need to protect users, infrastructure, or comply with law. When practical, we will explain an enforcement decision and review an appeal. Report abuse or appeal a decision at https://compartment.dev/contact. Include the deployment URL, the conduct at issue, and supporting details. 7. AVAILABILITY AND WARRANTIES The Service is free. We provide it "as is" and "as available." We do not promise uptime, error-free operation, security, data retention, backups, support, or fitness for a particular purpose. You may experience outages, deletion, data loss, or security incidents. 8. NO LIABILITY You use the Service at your own risk. Because the Service is free, to the fullest extent allowed by law, we and our owners, employees, and contractors accept no liability for any loss, damage, claim, cost, or other consequence arising from or related to the Service, its availability or unavailability, any deployment, or your use of it. This exclusion applies under contract, tort, negligence, statute, and any other legal theory. Our total liability for all claims related to the Service is zero. This exclusion does not apply to liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. 9. CHANGES We may revise these terms by updating this page, its version, and its effective date. Your agent must present a new version before your next deployment. Urgent legal, security, or abuse-prevention changes may apply when we post them. If a court cannot enforce part of these terms, the rest will remain in effect.
